5 Amazing Places for Family, Senior, and
Maternity Photos in Texoma
Whether you're planning senior portraits, family photos, maternity images, or simply updating your portraits, choosing the right location can make all the difference. Texoma offers a variety of beautiful settings that provide unique backdrops for every style and personality.
Here are five of my favorite locations in the Texoma area—some I've already had the opportunity to photograph, and one that's high on my photography wish list!
1. Opera House Coffee – Durant, Oklahoma
If you're looking for a cozy, modern atmosphere with character, Opera House Coffee is one of my favorite indoor locations in Durant.
I've had the opportunity to photograph here, and I love how the natural window light creates soft, flattering portraits. The exposed brick, warm tones, and comfortable atmosphere make it a wonderful choice for anyone wanting something a little different from the typical outdoor session.
It's a fantastic option when the Oklahoma weather doesn't cooperate, and every corner seems to offer another creative opportunity.
Perfect for Branding, Couples and Engagements, and Fashion and Editorial style Sessions!
Hours of Operation: Mon-Fri 7am-6pm, Sat: 7am-2pm, Sun: Closed
2. Waterloo Park – Denison, Texas
Waterloo Park has quickly become one of my favorite outdoor locations.
I've photographed here a few times, and I just love how many different looks you can create without traveling very far. Depending on the season, you'll find open grassy areas, mature trees, walking paths, and beautiful natural light during the evening hours.
Also depending on the time of day, you will have the option for trees and woods or the beautiful lake water as a backdrop providing a timeless golden hour look!
Perfect for Families, Couples, Maternity, and Children's Sessions!
Best Time of Day: 6am-8am and 7pm-8:30pm
3. Historic Downtown Denison – Denison, Texas
Historic Downtown Denison offers an entirely different style than a park.
I've photographed sessions here and absolutely love the variety. Brick buildings, murals, historic storefronts, colorful doors, alleyways, and vintage architecture create an urban feel that's perfect for anyone wanting a little more personality in their portraits.
One of my favorite things about downtown sessions is that every block offers something different, giving your gallery a wide variety of looks without driving to multiple locations.
Perfect for Seniors, Branding, and Fashion and Editorial Sessions!
4. The Rooftop of the Choctaw Casino Parking Garage – Durant, Oklahoma
This is one location that I haven't photographed yet—but it's definitely on my photography bucket list.
The rooftop offers wide-open views of the Oklahoma sky, clean architectural lines within the large hotels and casino, and incredible sunsets. During golden hour, I can imagine warm light stretching across the skyline while creating a modern, editorial look that's difficult to find anywhere else in Texoma...
If you've ever wanted something unique that doesn't look like everyone else's photos, this location has tremendous potential.
Perfect for Seniors, Maternity, Creative Fashion and Editorial Sessions!
Best Time of Day: 6am-8am and 7pm-8:30pm
5. Carpenter's Bluff Bridge – Denison, Texas
If you're looking for something a little rustic and adventurous, Carpenter's Bluff Bridge is a fantastic choice.
This historic railroad bridge spans the Red River between Texas and Oklahoma and offers incredible textures, weathered steel, rustic wood, and beautiful natural surroundings. The combination of industrial history and scenic views creates a unique backdrop!
While safety always comes first and we'll only photograph in accessible areas, the bridge and its surroundings provide a one-of-a-kind atmosphere that's difficult to find in other areas.
If you're hoping for portraits that stand out from the typical park or field setting, Carpenter's Bluff Bridge is definitely worth considering.
Perfect for Families, Seniors, Couples/Engagements, and Maternity Sessions!
Best Time of Day 7am-10am and 4pm-8pm
